Over the past 3 or 4 days I have had problems with my internet.

It won't let me visit certain websites, log in to bebo, ebay etc. The internet is also running really slow.

Does anyone know if this would be a problem with my internet provider or if its a proble with my laptop?

I keep getting this standard message coming up:

Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage

Most likely causes:
You are not connected to the Internet.
The website is encountering problems.
There might be a typing error in the address.

What you can try:
Diagnose Connection Problems

I have tried the diagnose bit but nothing happens.

Any ideas?

Most likely BT internet or your router playing up. I would start by turning off and on the router. Do you know which router you have? (Should say on the underside of the unit)

sounds like a DNS issue with your internet provider (ie totally out of your control)

I have BT Internet & been having similar problems. Wonder if it could be a home hub update that's gone a bit wrong ? Or just server problems etc.

If things are running slow you may have spyware or malware on your laptop . Try Firefox too and see if that makes a difference . Lots of free spyware programs about to try .

I'm on BT Internet wirelessly here and its no different to normal, but I dont use a BT Home Hub.

Last time I had a problem, I completely powered down on my laptop and unplugged the router, left it for a minute or so and then powered up the router, waited a minute and then powered on the laptop and it sorted it. (or it might have been a coincidence and bt had a problem and then corrected itself)

i had a belkin router that did that before finally dying on me!!, the hassle of obtaining the warrenty repair, i ended up binning it and since i put in the home hub its been fine
