BT Line Reconnection - Is there way to get for free instead of £124.99??

I've just left V.Media and have ordered o2 broadband however I require a live BT landline number. I was hoping to take out the landline offer with o2, but they have advised I contact BT to get a live number. Not the scenario I wanted as I hate BT with a passion and now I could be facing a reconnection charge of £124.99, is there anyway I can get round this?

Thanks

If you sign up to a 18 month contract instead of the usual 12 month then installation is free

Thanks, will have to go with 18 months then! But how do you go through quidco, MSE says you have to call 0800 800 150, or is there way changing order online to suit requirements? thanks

There may be a way but I signed up to the 18 month recently to avoid the installation fee and I wasn't able to get Quidco on it unfortunatly :x

Im on the 18 month deal. You are essentially paying the connection fee through the contract, but easier to pay a few extra pound a month rather than paying it all out at once.

If you plug a phone into your BT socket right now and there is a dial tone but you cant actually dial out, BT will reconnect it for free.

if you call 0800 800 150 (or 0330 1234 150 from a mobile), quote "free connection offer", you can take it up, as long as you go onto a 18 month contract and make at least 10 chargeable or inclusive calls per month you can take it up.
