BT problem making me angry

Ok, what happened is I have been with BT for 2 years now at 3 different flats.

Same or similar problem each time.

Overcharging me then adding a late payment charge when I dont pay so have to complain to high level complaints to get anywhere.

It was ok for like 6 months last year till I moved then the problems started again on my bill, I asked for a monthly one and they charged quaterly so I just paid it in advance then when my bill came in Janurary though I asked again they tried to charge me for 3 months so I phoned and got nowhere then got disconnected and late payment charges, reconnection charges, card payment charges.

Eventually I got it sorted but they had to give me a new phone number and account,.

The latest bill was in middle of July and guess what!

Another 3 month bill and over £30 in charges!

Plus when they reconnected me they still charged me the same monthly line rental but instead of free calls up to an hour(where about 90% of my calls were) they charged me normal rate meaning I had about £40 in calls that I didnt owe! the other £60 was charges and line rental.

I only made less than £10 chargeable calls as in 0845 numbers rest were to landlines.

Despite many complaints they have disconnected me AGAIN for non payment and sending rude letters and phoning me demanding I pay.

What do I do?

Leave them, we used to have our mobile contract with them, they regualrly changed the billing date and the DD date, without warning, thus the free mins and text where never granted on the same date, meaning that every month calls that would have been free with our old billing date werent. I argued for months, they admitted that there was a sytem error but refused to understand that this was resulting in call charges every month, eventually we gave up and left, they are still arguing that we owe them £100. You cant win with them.

You poor thing...BT are a complete NIGHTMARE if anything goes slightly wrong, certainly doesn't help that a lot of the people you speak to CANNOT understand what you're on about...very frustrating! They had me in tears when I had a problem...I just couldn't get it sorted, ended up out of pocket because they disconnected my landline and I had to call from my mobile LOTS of times as they kept putting me through to different depts. and cutting me off in the process!. I suggest writing a letter and keeping a copy.

Ok bit confusing, was on hold for like 20 minutes and got through to an advisor, confusing due to his English but he said he would take off the charges apart from the £4.50 card payment one but the phone calls were correct as its free up to an hour but if its an hour and 1 minute I get charged £1.20 then 4p a minute after!

Shocking.

I think he said hes reconnecting line for free and giving me 7 days to pay.

Still contacted high level complaints though.

A result!

Got a phone call back from high level complaints and woman is wiping the charges and reconnecting me right away and apologising as she can see I have a direct debit set up on the account so shouldnt of been charged.

Also is getting the call charges sorted out etc.

Even gave me their full name and direct london landline number!

I have had tremendous issues with BT, their call centres are useless and I have been charged for packages I didnt have, calls I made while on a certain package.

After 4 months of issues, NO BILLS for months and suddenly a huge bill outlining what I wasnt due to pay.

I had had enough, so I wrote to the chief executive - within 24 hours, I got a call and my issues sorted....perhaps this is the way to go

Think thats what I got, I got the email address and emailed it and about an hour later got a call.

Im away for a few days so cant check if reconnected but got another phone call today saying its sorted.

Bit confused as she said she was sending a new fully itemised bill(as old one wasnt) and wiping the charges but mentioned the charges were like £75 but that was the line rental for 3 months plus calls so I think it means shes wiping my entire bill

scabbers
Can you pm the London line number please?

Im a bit worried if I do they may find out, so dont want to until I know its sorted.

I can give you the email address I contacted to see if you get anywhere with that,
