Hi,

You may of seen my other post regarding Sky, but i have just called BT to cancel the phone line, but they have now told me about BT Vision?

Just had a quick look online and it seems good in the traillers?

Does anyone have it? If so, why did you chose it?

if not, why not?

Never ? Why?

Couple of questions from my point of view...

It states HD ready, does the box allow you to watch the "free" HD channels?

Cheers

Rick

Out of the box it's a freeview box with record function, Good system menu ok lots of features to follow, Even tells you on the Tv screen who's ring your home phone lol or use phone book on tv to dial it for you (sad but good). I had it from day one and had 3 boxes due to early up-grades ******ing the boxes.
I didn't pay for extra channels but pay to view on music - karaoke etc was cheap.
It's a internet based system.
Would I have it again yes would I go with BT again no. Got shut went to O2 and got Sky+ and saved £10 a month. Watch out for the 18month tie in contract - They didn't tell me that.

I was thinking bout getting this.
All i really want is to watch the footy when it comes back on.
Does BT vision even show it and if so, how much does it cost?

We have BT Vision and i think its great. The only reason i had sky previously was so i could record and pause but you can do this with BT for a fraction of the cost
you can also record seriess which is a bonus. as well as the free on demand programs which are always good if nothing good is on TV you can also pay for films. weve only had one problem with it in about 18 months and that was easily rectified
let me know if youve got any questions!

my boyfriend was subscribed to Setanta through it but as that has gone T**s up not sure how he will get his fix! Obviously he can watch it on all the normal channels but to be honest i do everything in my power not to get involved with his obsession with sport!!

BT is in discussions with ESPN to show that channel as part of it's sports package (which has near live EPL matches)

So i will be unable to get any of the HD live stream feeds then?

So really.... its just a Freeview box with a hard drive??

I already have a decent media centre PC and server with more films than i will ever watch, plus the PS3 for the HD movies etc...

I think the best option for me will to go with the mainstream option of SKY HD........

How about FREESAT HD ??

Cheers
