Don't think anything was mentioned on tax credits but there is a cut in VAT from next monday to 15%. Won't make a huge differencr but every little helps:)

still trying to fully understand it myself.

a 2.5% drop on vat is that it? i guess ciggys and booze have gone up to take that into account then lol

im just annoyed that food prices wont be reduced. even though inflation has plummetted food prices are still going up.
child benefit increases are being brought forward to January instead of april.

VAT drops to 15% from next Monday but Fags and booze go up 2.5%!

So, we shall see which companies want to pocket the difference before passing the VAT cut.

VAT drops to 15%, for about 12 months? But then taxes go up afterwards to pay it all back? :? Whats the point!?

This is my cynical view in three bullet points.
1.The prices will hardly change (if at all) and the shops will absorb the profit.
2.Then the VAT goes up and the shop will increase prices and blame VAT.
3.The consumers will get shafted :(
