How much do you think it will cost to build a computer that is pretty good....and would have specs worth £799 from dell?

Dell's are already pretty cheap so it would not be a massive saving.

Less than £799, unless it's a particularly good offer. Generally speaking though, you could build something powerful for about £250, which is all it costs for a 2.8GHz Pentium Dual Core (£60ish), mobo (£40), case+PSU (£40), 4GB of RAM (£50) and tera harddisk (£60). Spec it up further as you see fit from there.

what you could do is look on websites like ebuyer etc and see if similar parts to the Dell add together cheaper than buying from them.

You also need to cost in DVD drive, Fans, and your operating system and a graphics card as the on board graphics on mother boards are pants.

Don't skimp on the power supply and get at least a 400w Good brand one
