Burger King - do they microwave (reheat) already cooked burgers?

I recently frequented a BK establishment and was told it would be 2mins for my order. When I watched out the back (which has to be the darkest kitchen ever) the guy took something from a tray and put it into what looked like a microwave - it was difficult to see. He then prepared the bun, box and salad and.........ding........opened a door, shut it and then declared the burger ready.

Does anyone know if BK pre-grill their burgers?

Manchester Piccadilly Station. Seen them do it with the breakfast buns.

Yes they do do this, they cook the burgers and reheat them in the micro for about 10 seconds

It goes through a broiler to be cooked, then into a high powered microwave to be finished and to melt cheese, if you choose to have it.

dont worry completely normal. If they took it off the chute and reheated it then thats not normal!

You can tell if a burger from there is in time, if you look at the wrapper there are numbers marked 1-12, burgers can sit for 10 mins before they need to be discarded, if your burger is marked at 2 its 'out' at 10 past, if its marked at 8 its 'out' at 20to... etc etc

EDIT: its not reheating them its finishing the cooking process, burgers have always been cooked like that at burger king

hehe me too, I absolutley loved it!!!! Best job ive ever had, although im only in my 2nd job!
Only reason i didnt go back was because my manager was an anus

Not trying to just **** off BK, as Im not a big burger eater. I just wondered if that was the BK way as I cant say that I've ever seen the flames shooting off the grill.

On another occasion in McDonalds I asked for a quarter pounder with cheese without onions (had a meeting and didn't want to stink). Anyway, the guy in the kitchen took an already made one off the rack and scraped out the onions.........needless to say I asked to see the manager. The manager then asked the guy in front of all the customers and he admitted what he had done. Ended up with a refund and a free meal, along with 4 other diners who complained.

yeah i loved it as well, i got on with everyone , i left when i was 18 time to move on + the fact eating whoppers on my break everyday made me feel like elvis:thumbsup:

Not as bad as Subway - their 'eat fresh' slogan is kinda wrong, in that their meat is pretty much all frozen, then defrosted.
