Ive Booked a holiday in bulgaria for family 2 adults and 2 teenages, ive been told its really cheap to eat and drink out there, i would normally take about £1500+ spending money with me... last year in cyprus we spent £2000 just on food and drink for 2 wks.

HOW Much spending money do you think i should take to bulgaria for 2 wks?
we staying sunny beach also does anyone have any info on any nice places where to eat and drink ?

I know its not answering your original questions, but if your spending 2K just on food and drink surely its more cost effective to go all inclusive.

I was told its really rubbish, but im keen on trying it next year. It's very cheap apparantly and the maids etc are pretty hard up....they took my dad's old trainers from the bin lol!
Have a fab time!

Some people actually like to eat out at different places and explore different surroundings. I understand that. :)

Hey - good choice I think

My friend went there last year and said it was sooooo cheap. I was actually thinking of going myself but I think my wee boy's still too young, he's two.

I'm sure she said you could get a decent three course meal with drinks for about £7.50ish.

Which resort are you going to as my mates have just come back and hated it. They said it was cheap but the food was awful everywhere and my mates even kept getting propositioned by loads of prostitutes all the time - even though they were with their girlfriends! Infrastructure is still very much behind the more common tourist hotspots!

I seem to recall they stayed in some place called sunny bay - I think.

£1800 sounds very expensive for 4 people sharing a room with flights IMHO.

You can get 3 bedroom villas with private pools for £400-£500 around most of europe.

Me & the mrs generally rent one, then get flights for about £150 each (Cyprus) and a car for about £90.

Total about £800 although in your case this would be around £1500 for 2 weeks. Worth considering next time. Once you stay in a villa, you'll never go back to a hotel again.

http://www.jamesvillas.co.uk/ is a great starter site. Spotted a 3 bed villa with pool for £103 a few weeks back (departure date was around April 12th). Flight were £133 each. We were very tempted but she couldnt get the time off work.
