I have a few random files I want to burn to CD's/DVD's and was wondering what programs are best and if anyone has a guide.

File types are:
.iso
.cdi
.mdf/.mds
.ts/.ts.avi

The iso + .ts/.ts.avi is needed most atm, thanks :)

atlewis,

it depends what you want to do with them? If you just want a CD with these on it and you are using Windows XP, then XP can copy them to a disk for you. In my experience I have found Nero to be one of the better burning programmes, you will usually get a copy of this with a retail DVD Burner or you can buy a full copy on it's own. This will offer you options as to what type of disk you require, some of these files might need converted before burning to disk so you may need other software to do this.

alcohol 120% is te best (You can burn all the file types apart from .ts with that program)
It supports the following file types

also is the .TS HD content?

Also

.TS is a Transport Stream file, which is [commonly] used for HDTV content downloaded from the internet , And in order to burn them you have to Convert it from .TS to standard mpeg2 file before you author it. To do this use a program called "HDTVtoMPEG2", Which can be found here http://www.midwinter.com/~bcooley/ . Then once it is mpeg2 you can load it up in your favorite dvd authoring program to convert the mpeg2 into a standard dvd format, then burn.

I use nero for all programs like that, download the trial, if you like it purchase it - an OEM version would be cheaper.

alcohol 120% is better you can also create virtual drivers therefore you do not need to burn you can just mount

Not always h4x3r

What if you need to use an .iso file which requires a restart or requires to run from drive before the pc's loaded.

No but not everyone needs to boot from the disc do they?
If you want to use it in Windows you can mount the .iso/etc etc file and use it without burning

Can you do that with nero?

no! :whistling:
