Just came home from the dentist to find one of those yellow temporary bus stops right outside our house, we have 4 cars in our family and we can just about fit 2 on the path therefore we need the area outside the drive. Are they allowed to just place it there without asking?

Can you move it? Just move it down the road!

That's what I was thinking;-)
#2
yes they can as it is only a temporary thing - so long as they have advertised it in the local paper
#3
was thinking the same, and if anyone says anything, blame it on drunk kids.. haha
#4
Ooooo sneaky, i might just do that but i either like or don't know the neighbours!
#5
Just move it. Who is to know it was you.
#6
I would move it when it dark, and just say you didn't notice it had been moved. :giggle:
#7
the thing is you do not have the automatic right to park outside your own home as it is deemed the public highway, if the driveway is correctly installed with dropped kerbs, permissions etc you can expect no one to block it though. so basically if they want to put it there they will as long as was advertised
#8
Yes they can,if they want to install it on a permenant basis then planning permission is needed but be aware that as you don't own the road outside they can do this if they want :x
#9
put it on the opposite side of the road. That will confuse them lol...
#10
Then your neighbours will move it too! Just think, tomorrow morning the bus stop will be in Kirkby!
#11
Outside your house has probably been deemed the safest place to put it
#12
just keep on taking the signs until they get the message that u dont want a temp bus stop near u...or maybe just stick it on other side of the road...thatl confuse em.
#13
Just move it. Although if you move it to outside my house I will be super ****** off.
#14
Great deal voted HOTTT A+++++
#15
why not just put it in your dust bin? better yet put it in next doors dust bin
#16
you park on the path?
in your garden or the public path as this could be deemed illiegal in itself

obstruction of a public highway

i would move the bus stop to where it was before anyways
#17
Yeah, it's the council's road and I guess the bus company have permission to place the stop there.

Call the roads department of your Council to enquire.

Better still , put it outside your local Council Offices in the small hours of the night !

IF you have dropped kerbs then they are breaking the law by placing it there as it is blocking the queen's highway.
