anyone been? i went to centre parcs 3 years ago with my 2 year old and it was awesome.... but maybe would have been better to have gone when he was older. now he is 5 and i have an almost 2 year old...so looking for something a bit more kid style.....

centre parcs is quite pricey as well...500 odd for villa and everything on top.... is this the case with butlins...that u pay for all the activities? are they expensive?

thanks!

gotta go so cant hang around but will check replies when im back...if any! hehe!

thanks x

Have you tried Haven, great fun for the kids your ages are, took my 4yr old and 6yr old and they loved the early evening shows :-)

Butlins is cheaper for a reason - its carp.
If you go with a huge bunch of people then Butlins should be okay since everyone will just keep each other busy. If it's only a few of you going then try to avoid Butlins (and Pontins) if you can and just pay the extra for Centre Parcs.

went to butlins skegness last year and had a great time, swimming pool is excellent(has slides, wave pool, bubble pool etc),free funfair, entertainment, adventure playground etc.

we booked a caravan which was much cheaper than the chalets and included passes for upto 6 people we booked caravan from :http://www.familycaravanholidays.co.uk/

Skeggy and Fantasy island is like a heaven for kids. Very expensive though.

I went to Butlins in Skegness a couple of months ago - it was like hell on Earth.

Cattle market for your food, entertainment was pathetic, and the standard room was about 6ft square (no lie !) Ended up paying an extra £150 to upgrade it to a silver apartment, and even that was not upto "basic" centreparcs villa's.

Get yourself back to CP - plenty of codes knocking about :)

We've done it all, stayed on site at Butlins, stayed in a caravan like scooby that comes with the passes, and been to center parcs. Have to say, I would always pay the extra for Center parcs as there's no comparison but Butlins is OK, just a bit of the "shell-suit brigade" there, sorry if you own one and I sound snobby. Great for kids but not quite the standard of Center parcs and nowhere near as relaxing, depends what gets your kids going, we've got 2 girls age 3 & 7 and they love rides etc so would love Butlins but like Center Parcs better because they love being outdoors and especially like it when the ducks and swans come knocking at your patio door.

Just my opinion but I would pick Center Parcs every time.

not been to cp but have taken my kids to butlins a couple of times - they love it.

Accomodation has been clean but basic - what i paid for, food we went bb/dinner package and theres a good range but q's can be long

theres a few takeaways at bognor inc burger king, papa johns etc, hotdog stalls around (ex)

theres a shop for self catering supplies, tesco and morrisons in bognor town

there is a small hut on the beach front by butlins that sells great fish n chips! and bognor town is a short walk away and many shops there

nooo i dint mean price wise...quite the opposite actually...I meant that it looked cheap...I wasnt impressed..thats all:oops:

thats fair enough, everyone has different tastes, i only go for the kids, wweve not had a bad time yet :-D

think it depends on how old the kids are that are going and what they enjoy etc

ive never been to a butlins or cp.. have i not lived? :p
im guessing they are all the same really tho arnt they?

you cannot compare centreparcs with butlins.

they are in different price ranges and the people, atmosphere, entertainment, facilties are all of a completely different standard.

you cannot go to a bultins and expect a holiday like centreparcs.

if you want centreparcs i hear a new place has opened just outside malvern, worcestershire, where you live in a permanent tent, but it has an arga, a bit like luxury camping. this might be an alternative.
