Is Butlins full of chavs?

Yo! - I have 2 young kids and want a cheap and stress free break, but I dont really like chavs, will there be an issue in Butlins or has it all changed?

I dont mind spending silly money, 1000+ if I have to, but I do like the idea of it all being in one area, so there is not too far to travel with youngsters.

Only want a 3/4 day break.

Any ideas if Butlins is full of chavs lol.

You get rough kids from any background tbh. I have seen so many middle - upper class families who let their kids run riot, and cause all kinds of trouble.

Yeh it is full of chavs which is a shame because caravan holidays are always great fun, it does usually put a damper on things. But from my experience its the 'posh'er ' familys kids that seem to be the worst. I suppose it may vary from each site.

If like you say, you don't mind spending 1000+ then go to Centre Parcs.

Edit - just re read the posts. You don't sound like a chav, just ignorant!

Enjoy your *fingers crossed* chav free holiday, I hope it's full of snobs for you :)

I remember going to butlins in pwhelli when I was young and there always ended up being huge fights in the bar most nights, this must be 30+ tears ago

Still loved the place, anyone remember the butlins beaver club?
#10
ohhhhh souljacker that beaver club offers up sooo many opportunities to go straight into the gutter lmao............. but i won't.

It does depend which butlins you are thinking of going. Skegness is full of them but I found Bognor was alot better. Not been to minehead for a while so can't comment on that one.

we went to skegness xmas week..had the gold accom and dined in the posh dining room..was excellent! dont stay in any other accom as the other eating places are a free for all. Ours was spot on-seated by waiters and although self service was never a queue. Lovely staff in there too all lovely helpful people had time fo a chat. Had my 81yr old mums birthday and they decorated her table and were lovely to her.
I saw no trouble of any kind-my kids played in the play areas, we saw the shows..they LOVE it.
Actually i think they prefer it to aboad lol
#13
Never been, don't think I would go either. Would rather pay the extra an go to centre parcs.
BUT kids must love it there as they cater so much for them. As plumberman01 has said sounded like their kids didn't want to come home :)

It's usually full of people who know how to enjoy themselves and make the most of their break, if this makes them chavs then yes it will be.

There is loads to do and the no the kids will not want to leave but this has to be a good sign.

Night times will be full of rowdy gangs of both sexes but again thats what it is aimed at really. I've never seen any trouble or even heard of any tbf. If you see any trouble or people not to your liking you just mve on, pretty much like anywhere these days.

I would upgrade from the basic accommodation though as it does tend to be low budget and frequented by the low budget travellers or chavs as you like to call them.

Also as your child is only two you will be supervising them at all times....right ?..........if so then what harm will they come to, as you will be there !

It's a caravan park in the UK - it's not going to be filled with people who alternate between Skegness and the south of France.

I wouldn't use the word 'chav' though. Just poor, uncultured, Primark-smelling people.

I went to Butlins years ago when I was younger and remember it being all tarmac and looking a bit shabby. I went to Center Parcs fairly recently and found it really enjoyable but expensive.

The snobbery on here makes me laugh..........people who come on the site to try and save a few pennies, dive on every freebie going and then claim to be better than others. X)

This place has more than it's quota of morons.

Like yourself? ;)

It was twenty years ago that I went to Butlins and it may be different now.

I think peoples definition of a "chav" greatly differs on here, it is highly amusing the reasons people give for some being a chav!

There's a difference between getting the Seinfeld boxset for £34.99 or a Kinect with Xbox for £199, and choosing to holiday in a caravan.

I dont mind going abroad, was thinking of euro disney but I am worried about the queues + longer travel times with the little ones.

+ to the sniping comments on here, I want my children to grow up with respect and to be kind to others, yes the use of the word 'chav' was not really needed, but these days I am sick of rougher people or chavs if you will dragging their kids up and having no respect for others.

Absolutely, but I dont see why I need to be careful considering so many on here think it is fine and common practise to speak their minds without consideration.

But that sums it up really .. why sink to their level? and just a thought if you had not been so general in your term"chav" do you think people might have been more likely to give you better advice on Butlins..

Say" I am thinking of going to Butlins, anyone been and what were your views .. bad points good points etc " does that sound more like what you were trying to ask ?

Never thought I would go to a Butlins then the missus dragged me there went to Bogner, two brothers stabbed each other the 2nd time I went with her to an 80s weekend it was full of building work. Loved the food though never ate so much ****. If you do go take ear plugs as some **** will no doubt knock on your window as they turn in for the morning.

After that we can then possibly start generalising Asians and gays. :)

My parents are both self employed, they go on holiday abroad each and every year but they also own a static caravan next to Lulworth cove that they go to most weekends. They enjoy going away to the caravan so that must make them chavs right?

If your seriously considering Butlins then you probably are a chav
