hi guys

my mum gave me a recipe ages ago for butterscotch tart and it was lush :)

however ive lost it :-(

i asked my mum again and shes given me a totally different recipe involving egg!, now it dont give the same result and i know definately i didnt use egg previously!!

the ingredients im pretty much sure i did use were:

demerara sugar

butter/margarine

milk

flour

im just not sure the amounts/ratio

im sure it was just a case of melting the butter and milk together then adding the flour and sugar (already combined) gradully while stirring

can anyone help??

thanks :-D

awww, sorry Lou

Im not a chef, but if you want it like momma used to make, she's the only one you can ask.

Have you tried Google? (Im supposing you have)

How could you forget such a simple recipe?!

Extensive ingredients are...

Can of evaporated milk
Light muscovado sugar
Shortcrust pastry

:)

Whisk together the evaporated milk and sugar for about 5 min.
Chuck it into your baked blind pastry tart
Lob it into the oven until set (10ish min)
Leave to cool
...
Eat

That's great..so you don't have to take it to the pub, give it the smooth talk, buy it a meal and having spent a fortune hope for the best...that's the sort of tart I'd get on with!!
