If the price is right, download - at the moment I tend to buy the CDs as they don't seem to be that much more than the digital download and I have the choice of how I want to encode them.

I also prefer to buy albums on CD and then copy these to my hdd. The CD can be stored away and reused if necessary. Downloads are ok for the occasional track but otherwise I prefer to have the disc.
Never had a problem with transferring any selection to either a media centre or mp3 player which is how I listen to my music.

Lucky you !!
I used to really envy John Peel his job and his record collection and also used to get round the car boot sales buying up promo's etc of new bands.

Trouble is you get around 75% run of the mill, 20% got potential and 5% gems ! All that means is that 75% of my collection is run of the mill and ends up in the shed , lol

Still a great privilege though to be able to listen to someones heart and soul.
Where would we be without music............................

Oh and if not obvious you would have to pay me to download albums, what would I use as a Frisbee to try and decapitate the cat ? :w00t: (j/k)

Lol, thats who dad wanted to be (John Peel). Now his blog gets over 700 visits a day and he gets at least 1 CD every day through the post from a record company or band. Not bad in my opinion, the majority of the bands are really good as well. Some of the packaging on them is great as well, 1 that made us laugh was made from a cereal box, with a promotional flier made from the same, just painted white. Usually come in proper CD cases though.

Best has to be about a week ago, someone actually sent a sandwich through the post! Made from 'cheese from the devils larder' and devilled eggs (Dad writes as 'the devil' because site is called the devil has the best tuna) and it had holes cut in the top with half cherry tomatoes stuck in! Was in a lunchbox and sent through the post. Was sitting in the hall for a day because dad was away on business, we wondered what the smell was! Got our attention though, listened to the CD and posted on them that night!

Yep I've visited "The Devil" a few times and he does a great job  You must be proud of him :)
Someone needs to fill Peel's shoes, sad that his passing has been, maybe your dad should step up Kelly !!

Pass on my best and I'll pass on the site wherever I can.

Love the stories above by the way, definitely rock n roll !!! lol

Lol, he keeps saying he wants to give up his job and just do that sort of stuff, he'll need to soon to have time to listen to all of the CDs!

Glad you like the site, he works hard on it but he also enjoys it.

Still cant believe someone sent a sandwich through the post, but it worked, got us talking about them!

A band in Canada who he went to see when he was working over there and then blogged on, have included him on their thankyous for their latest album, and they are about to be signed
