Buying A Pre-flashed 360. Legit or not?

There are loads of websites selling pre-flashed consoles.

Are they able to do so legitimately or are they a scam?
Anyone ever got one from one of them and can recommend, or is it more likely my money will vanish?

Not sure.

I remember when people were selling mod chips for the first Xbox and that was legal BUT putting on the bios that runs the back-ups is illegal so unsure.

Might be the case here too.

They're breaking the law I'm sure.

They say they are new, and the manufacture date would support that I guess.

Anyone else got anyore info?

Yes, technically it is illegal, as it is a copyright infringement of the firmware that runs the computer. However, as you are buying a flashed XBOX anyway, i doubt you are too concerned about copyright laws

You're best buying one from a shop then flashing yourself or getting someone to do it.

It really is very easy to do providing you have a desktop PC and a SATA connection and cable.

I've done them before, but now don't they all need thY probe aswell? Is not as simple as just connecting to the pc anymore. ( would be happy to be proved wrong though).

I think June 09 onwards have to be soldered etc... but the older ones are a little easier. I've always got someone else to do it. Google is your friend

And therein lies the point of this thread, I don't know anyone local. Google will bring up plenty but I'm after recommended places that I can trust.

http://www.ghost2fitter.co.uk/ - Sent mine off to get flashed and was returned to me in a few days. Great service. I assume pre flashed consoles would be the same :)

I don't know whether these, http://www.cd24-7.co.uk/ , in Birmingham, do chipping or not.

no they don't, they did the xclamp fix for me originally and I asked about flashing, but they said they don't.

Incase anyone comes across this thread in future, I ordered from this company, and it arrived next day. No problems at all.
