Buying off ebay kills people!!

Is this a coincidence or is it the new excuse all the useless ebay members are using!!

Right the last 3 times on ebay I have had problems with members for example I have not recieved the item after payment and after weeks off them fobbing me off saying all sorts, I get fed up as we are just going around in circles. So I report them, the last 3 times The excuses why I havent had a refund or they have not got back to me is that they have had a death in the family!!

So here is my dilema, should I stop buying items off ebay?? as if I keep up this trend I will kill off the nation!!

yes i think you should stop :D although if you keep killing people off then their is less people wanting the same stuff as you so will be cheaper :D

only buy off sellers with loads of feedback

they have to got feedback somehow, but yer alot of low feedback are often dodgy nowadays on ebay

I usually do, this has been off sellers with feedback less then 50ish I think!

Im thinking its just an excuse, because its funny how someone does not reply to your emails but as soon as you report them they are onto you like a flash!! Some people are sick and also crap at understanding the concept of ebay.

Only buy from sellers with good and long term feedback.

I never have any problems.

i wont bother quoting because it doesnt work, i understand that people have to get feedback somehow but thats not my problem when i want to buy something i'll use someone who is a trusted seller with 1000's of feedback

ha this has made me laugh i sold my ps3 on it 3weeks ago still waitin for the guy to pick it up hes cumming this weekend aparently and guess why hes taken so long been a death in the family even tho he only lives 13miles away from me

Generally death in family translates to... Buyer "I don't have the cash right now but I was an idiot and bid anyway, just need to get my wages". Seller "I listed it with too cheap a start price and no reserve and it sold nowhere near what I wanted to get for it".

Fine, you buy from the newbies to help them establish themselves. I'll stick to those with good feedback, thanks.

LOL... exact excuse I just got. Someone has not dispatched an item and after 2 and a half weeks finally contact me saying they have been at the hospital with their gran for the past 2 weeks because she only has a month to live.

Do I believe them? No.

They have a history of dispatching items late. I should have read into their feedback more before I bought the item.

I've had that excuse loads of times :)

I sold my laptop for £1400 twice on ebay. The first buyer said 4 days later that they where sorry but it was the kid Ryan who is only 7 Years old & must have pressed the button because his dad was showing him the laptop the night before :-/

The 2nd buyer wanted me to post to Italy & I said no-way due to Italy having one of the worst postal services in Europe. Also the buyers address was London & so I think he was chancing his arm for a scam.

So, the last 3 times you havent received your items?

Am I the only person who thinks OP has fluffed the checkout process and is getting crap sent to Lithuania???

Nope, I buy items all the time and run into no problems regarding receiving.

Buying on ebay is great, But selling can be a Nightmare.

Its not only buying, when I have been selling it happened once aswell. This was a while ago when you could leave buyers negative feedback. After winning they kept saying I am going to pay tomorrow as I get paid and nevert did, after a couple of weeks and noticing they had been buying other items I left them bad feedback, the next thing YES someone had died, but the best thing they left me negative and said my item was fraudelent and never existed, jesus theres a bunch of muppets on there. If I buy an item I pay straight away.

I've had many excuses - death in the family, broken leg so can't get to post office, paypal broken :/ lol i only buy now from people with over 100 feedback and no negatives, or power sellers - and i will never ever buy a phone/electrical item - had a few bad experiences, one recently with the shoddiest dvd player ever but i did get my money back :)

haha, nice one!

Keep killing them off - will make more room for genuine sellers :)

I genuinely was a week late in posting an item I sold earlier this year as I was in hospital with a broken jaw so it does sometimes happen.

That old chestnut :p

The other excuse I have heard a few times is that the sellers local post office is closed due to flooding
