Buying Pewter (Silver) Coloured Card/Paper? HELP!

Hi all

I've been asked/volunteered to do a friends Weddings Invites, and they've only gone and chosen Baby Blue and Pewter (Silver) as their colours for a November Wedding

Now, I've managed to find a perfect match for the blue, but have come to a dead end when trying to source the silver/pewter

For those designers of us here the HEX code is dbdbd1 or RGB is 219, 219, 209. To all the others.. I'll insert a pic!

Any help as to where I can find/purchase this would be great! I've tried papermill website, ebay and hobbycraft but no joy! I need roughly 90 A5 and 90 A6 paper and/or card will be great

If i can get an exact match, the nearest one to it will suffice.

was my next port of call...

you would need 50 a4 not a6, they get bigger in size as the numbers get smaller. have you tried asking someone whos at an art college/uni (if you know any1) , my college shop sells silver paper
other than that, paperchase?
#5
ebay, silver paper size a4, which would make 50 a5 pieces, so just buy 2 sets, less than £4 i would guess with combined postage
item no 220720093029
or 220709711517 (a tad dearer)

silver card aswell, is pricier though
220720099872

all from same seller so combined postage

it looks near enough colour wise

Update, no pewter card but they "think" they have loads of pewter paper in a box somewhere in the warehouse. If it turns out it is I have been told you can have it for nowt. So fingers crossed, will let you know.
#13
ah thanks... when will you know!

I usually get my card/paper from Colemans as they have a good selection. We are lucky enough to have a colemans warehouse that opens to the public at the weekends so they have tons of stuff. Might be worth trying a colemans shop if you have one nearby.
#15
Print it, onto white card?
#16
Loobie.... never heard of colemans, so cant say we have one nearby..

chesso - its not my invites, I've been asked to use pewter, so thats what I have to do

Chesso - not for my best mates invites - Myself and auntie were gonna go into Wedding Stationery Business last year, but for various reasons it never got off the ground. However, "pewter" was never mentioned during business start up lol

some people are just bloody awkward lol
#22
Nikki - any news hun?
#23
Hiya, sorry for keeping you hanging!
Contact was called away on emergency and won't get to warehouse now till Tuesday.
So its up to you, still don't mind getting it checked if the wait is not too long.
Cheers

Are you actually printing on the pewter card, you need to look into this, what type of finish are you looking for, i know of a company that does several shades of metallic colours, ill have a think of the name and hunt my samples, i know because I made invites out of them in the past, they have more variety than I've seen anywhere else, they are a paper company and i have not seen the same sort of stuff anywhere else,
Try contacting gfsmith ask them for a sample booklet of anything with this shade, intact try a few different companies they will send you samples for free
#27
PDA are sending me summit as we speak, but whatever you have skellysgirl, that would be great if you can send me summit up

they want black text -- on pewter insert --- i know, i know!! not my choice. will it print and look OK
#28
If the pewter is metallic you may have a problem printing on it, and to be truthful it won't stand out too great as pewter is quite dark, I'd get a sample and give it a try, the card im thinking of is printable on, but you have to take it out and let it dry as it still smudges and it's a manual feed through the printer, I have some in a cupboard somewhere, I only have the white but if you know the name they will send you a sample,
#29
Also try mcnaughtons, them and gfsmith are the main paper merchants, tell them you work for a print company and they will send you samples
