I can see that you can get the Samsung Galaxy S2 from O2s website but when can you start to buy on contract from the Orange, T-mobile, Vodafone & 3s main Websites on a contract? (thought you could buy from today)

1st May was a recent release date.
However last time I checked it was moved to 6th.

People ringing O2 have been getting mixed answers, some people are sold the phone with delivery around 6th, others are being told it's not yet available!

Ditto,
I've went to carphonewarehouse and registered my interest in their upgrade section,
they've worked out my upgrade date and will call me to try to sell.
My thinking is see what they offer, and possibly use it to barter with my network or vice versa.

Gotta try it anyway :)

Damn knowing Orange and T-Mobile they are probably saying that to keep some customers (to wait a little longer) and will get the phone even later.

I went into O2 they said they was not selling this phone on PAYG and never done so. Also when I went into Phones4U they said that they were selling the phone for £550 on PAYG but I could clearly see that they was lying and it was £500 and they were only trying to sell me a contract. Cheeky or what!

So might just wait to see what T-mobile have to say otherwise I will buy the phone and find the cheapest tarrif for 12/18 months.

From here they are saying that T-mobile are going to be selling the phone from this Friday coming. http://androidforums.com/samsung-galaxy-s2/330190-t-mobile-uk-launch-13th-may-2011-a.html

I can upgrade on Orange from tomorrow, still don't know wether to go for the S2 or HTC Sensation. Looking at this though HTC release date will probably be months away on Orange.

Personally I hadn't heard much of any of these phones until a few weeks ago when I got curious about my upgrade prospects, but had heard plenty of positive chatter about Android.
Really got hooked on all the positive spin about the Galaxy S2, Features like HD video recording, the huge clear screen, dual core processor etc. etc.

Just looking at HTC Sensation noe, very similar.
2 Big pluses for Galaxy S2: Samsung are great at display tech and the Screen looks great.
Internal memory on HTC Sensation 1GB, RAM 768mb BUT Galaxy S2 has 16GB internal and 1GB RAM

I don't mean to be biased but I guess I've made my mind up :p

Yes you're right there, the Samsung has got slightly better hardware specs and I think its what I'll go for. However, the HTC does look nicer IMO and HTC's user interface (HTC Sence) is apparently much nicer and easier to use than Samsungs TouchWiz. Might try to have a play with the two phones before I make my mind up.

This comparison on TechRadar is really good, compares Samsung Galaxy S2, HTC Sensation and iPhone 4...

Cool, hadn't seen that one, which is more up to date than one I have seen.
But still S2 for me.

Not a clue, AFIK all vendors should have it?
But looking online have only seen Phones4u with it on Vodafone.

The samsung galaxy s2 is available from orange on the first week in June. U can get it early through phones4u or carphonewarehouse etc but they are not officially tested yet and do not come with the NFC chip.
#23
You can get a Samsung Galaxy S2 on the T-mobile network. I will see what I can get for an upgrade.

I first rang T-mobile to see what they can offer for an upgrade and only got offered the deals online so I cancelled my contract. Loged in online and for an upgrade it offered the same deal I am on 900min 500texts 3Gig Download for £25per month plus I had to pay £160 for the phone on an 18 month contract. Cheaky or what!

Called again the following day and they offered the same deal I am on but they first said I only have to pay £100 for the phone and said sorry it was £140. So I feel that as I have cancelled they will offer better deals the longer I wait because the sales person said you can wait untill Monday to think (so hinting me on) and when I was with 3 they was begging me to stay in the last week off my cancellation.

Cool, good luck.
I was happy with the £27 per month deal as online with O2.
Rang them only to be told oos and she wouldn't take my order until it was back.
So I went into town and got it in store.
And I'm loving it! It does zap battery but I am using it loads so I reckon it's relative.
#26
No deals from T-mobile and said I would have to pay £35per month instead of £25 (told them what I was offered and couldent except)

So went with O2 where I got a 24 month price plan at £10.50 for 50 min and 250 text and had to pay £150 for the hand set. And not going to use sim so looking for one at £10 for no longer than 18 months with good minuets and data.

So will come to

(£10.50 * 24) + £150 = £402 for the phone.
£10* 18 = £180 for contract.
Total = £180 + £402 = £582 that is know where near what T-mobile was offering me

Just phones Vodafone to see what they can offer for a sim only and they gave me 600min, unlim texted, 500Mb data download for £10 a month for 12 months. They also knocked off another £15 on top. Didnt expect that from Vodafone might be because I have a contract with them to.

Great!
Nothing to do with having poor reception? :)
