Buying used car, help needed

Looking to buy an used Vauxhall Zafira 1.6 or 1,8 and 2007/2008 , preferably from a dealer. Dealer price seem to about £3k more from whatcar / parkers valuation. Is this right?

In most cases there is 2-3 year manufacturer warranty left and the NetworkQ warranty sounds meaningless. Any help will be appreciated.

Sorry my only advice would be to not touch one! Ours was a nightmare, there was a thread on them a few weeks back haven't got time or I'd find it for you

Parkers Guide is totally inaccurate. I'm in the trade, and it is a laughing stock. Owned by the same group as Daily/Sunday Sport.
Buy a Citroen Grand Picasso for the 7 seats. Used stock is low nationally atm, but should find some decent cars around.

Good to know that :-D

We prefer Zafira due to its medium size which can be useful for office commute too. Also looked at CarGiant.co.uk where the prices closely follow WhatCar? valuation.

Older Citroens like Xantia and Visa maybe, but not anything built in the last 15years.

Apparently the Picasso is a monster of a car, one of the best, and very reliable.

All these horror stories I'm an Alfa driver and never had problems!! Don't always believe the rumours :)

Yes I have. I don't wish to appear rude, but clearly you have a different opinion to mine. :whistling:

Not sure about overall build quality but their electrics are crap. The in laws always buy Citroen and without fail the electrics always seem to **** up. I've got somebody's old Xantia sitting outside waiting for me to work on it, think it's on an H plate and the only thing wrong with that is the windows have fallen off their runners. Seems pretty sound apart from that (and a well dodgy spray job on the bonnet courtesy, I suspect, of a registered blind person )

Sorry just got back to this, that wasn't the thread. We had such a nightmare over 6 mths of owning our Zafira that we eventually got our money back. We now have a Mazda5, fantastic car wouldn't swop for anything now
