buying xmas pressies girls v boys - rant

Why oh why is it so hard buying for boys compared with girls! :x

Is this just me?

I have 2 boys age 12 and 10 and a girl age 7, my daughter i find it extremely easy to buy for, in fact im almost done with her presents but the boys, well im at a loss what to get my 12 year old :? I have a few ideas for my 10 year old but its still bewildering!

He says he's too old for toys, (hes 13 on the 3oth dec) and wants money  however i have to get him a few bits, how awful him not having any pressies to open xmas day, but what?

Girly stuff everywhere, could buy over and over, same with clothes!

Primark on monday, a huge area of girls clothes with jus a small section for boys, ggrrrrrr

oh not to metion NO boys footwear at all, despite a huge load for girls!!

So what to get a young male teenager?!!

A lot of it depends on the ages too - younger children are really easy to buy for but when they reach double figures it starts getting harder

Hi Lou,

PLEASE dont buy clothes (unless there is something he really wants!!) Nothing boys hate more!

Gadgets always welcome (mp3,psp etc.). Radio controlled helicopter/plane/ufo/hovercraft might be good. Seen a few thing like that previously in threads on HUKD

Or..What about a Karting voucher?

oh i used to so enjoy buying for my daughter when she was little, all the beautful pretties, barbies, etc, etc, when little man came along it was just plain old boring looking stuff, he had a drum kit that he broke after about a month, a tool bench he never plays with, etc, etc :-(

But thank fully ive finished.
Just my otherhalf is left to get:thinking: Dont know what to get him! open to suggestions! LOL

this is sort of an idea, but when my eldest reached this age, just got a few bits, eg, clothes, but not to over the top, and then what we did was wrap 50p, £1.00 coins or whatever you want in all different size boxes, even toilet rolls.

and i can tell you he loved that as he felt he had just as many pressies to open as younger ones, so not left out. and was fun. :)

hope you can work out out what i am trying to say ! :)
