my advice is dont, you will be contravening your companies internet rules and therefore could get into trouble. Its not worth it. Everything you do on your machine is logged and can come back to bite you.

Try a web based messenger?

Tried & failed!

I got MSN on my USB pen, just need settings so it can connect!

Thanks for warning micky...im able to delete the event manager history, but unsure if it will make a difference, lol. Perhaps I'll just stick to email, lol.

Unless there is a security hole in your companies firewall/proxy, then it aint gonna happen.

I work in IT, everything goes through the proxy, unless you dial out yourself using a modem (or know a friend in IT you can ask to let it through) you're not gonna be able to do it.

If you can browse the internet at work, then doesnt MSN Webbased messenger work, that goes through Port 80 (web), so should therefore work?

Thats just an ISP proxy bypass. This means that if you use another proxy, your ISP cant log what you go on.

It wont and cant bypass the local proxy server on your LAN.

As another poster mentioned don't try.. Depending on the size of your company there will be either basic logging on the gateway or very (I mean Very!) detailed information of the destination, port, time started, time finished, etc.. A year ago a contractor was removed from the premises as he was spending 7 hours a day browsing websites as the logs indicated continuous web traffic for a long period... Will be the same as MSN. (BTW I work in the IT department) You've been warned!
