Cake?!

I am baking a cake for my works charity cake bake and I wanted to ice our company logo on the top as a joke but I am not sure what sort of cake to bake!

What sort of cake goes best with icing? It would have white / cream icing on top and then my company logo in colours on top. I was thinking a victoria sponge but that is a bit dull!

Ta!

Any idea how much these cost? I had a look at Tesco online but couldn't see them!

We are suppose to make the cakes ourselves but ssssh, no one will know!

Its easier to ice a fruit cake, you can use ready made marzipan and icing them you can buy the logo printed onto icing from ebay. Or Asda and Tesco both sell plain fruit cakes already iced that you could add the logo to.

A Madeira cake will work if you cover in buttercream and then "roll out icing". You can buy this in the supermarket already rolled for a circular cake. You could use a spare piece of roll out icing to make the logo and then put that on top (in case there are any mishaps with doing the logo straight on the cake!) Good luck whatever option you choose.

Plain ornery sponge. Do it with a butter icing filling (Or stiff whhipped cream) - with a layer of chopped fruits of the forest as well.

Dust with icing sugar and do the logo in chocolate powder thru a stenci.

Blast! I'm drooling now.
