You will reach State Pension age: March 2051
You will be: 68 years old
Time until you reach State Pension age :41 years, 8 months
To qualify for a full basic State Pension you will need to have built up: 30 years of National Insurance payments

68 before I can retire and I have to work 30 years!!! that's if I live that long lol!!
Depressing really!!

thats the worst thing in that you only need 30 years NI contribs to qualify so in effect you could be 48 having worked 30 years and still have to wait 20 years before getting a pension. :w00t:

It has to happen though with the gilt edged public sector pension's massive black hole in finances that has to be paid above all else. I'm not getting at current workers in the public service but its high time they the removed final salary scheme from new workers. Its not like the wage differential argument can wash these days.

Its just unsustainable but no government has the bottle to go near the topic. :x

I hate those birthday drop down boxes.
My birthday is on the 30th of the month and invariably those boxes stop at 29 and I have to scroll the rest of the way. ( It is so time consuming to do ).
What is wrong with programmers these days?
Were they all born at the beginning of the month?

mine normally stop around the 12th!

personally, I prefer to type digits in to date fields. So quicker! ;-)

Role on 2039!

My parents retired 3 years ago and have loved every minute. Jammy so and so's. They had free Uni education, got benfits and grants at the same time as well, tax relief on their mortgage and got to work less hours for less years than I'll have to.

Me. Big debt leaving Uni, no benefits or grants. No tax relief on my mortgage and work long hours for more years and no job security. The only thing which seems tougher in the old days seems to be the food.

Baby Boomers have got a lot to answer for...... Grrr.

August 2043 at 67, only 34 years and 24 days! As a nurse I do not think I will still be slogging for the NHS when I am 67 - I will want them to be looking after me!
#27
why does the date thing start in 1920??, would you not have already been claiming for 20+ years?!
