Assuming it's got XP on it

plug it in, let it autoplay and sit back

may need a reboot but that's about it, all software is on the stick

If it's Linux I don't know, but there are plenty that do

If Your running linux i recommend you download windows 7 beta and install it. Its very easy and simple and if you want I'll write you a little guide on how to do it. With W7 setting up your o2 broadband will be plug and play.

I had the same problem with my aspire one and o2 dongle. I just took my dongle back and got the orange icon 225 dongle it worked straight out of the box. no software updates.
I won the orange dongle on ebay for 20quid and a pay as you go sim card for 1.46.

Lunix is great when you get going. take the time to get used to it it runs faster smoother and better than windows and the virus risk is virtually nill. I am running linpus lite (the same as yours) and its fantastic

Very good - check out the main thread regarding the deal for the Acer Aspire One 150-AB and you can see the feedback from the other members that have it along with multiple links for covering how to install Windows XP, Vista & 7 Beta.

practically as fast as XP but brilliant compatibility wise. Most drivers automatically install and it has a much nicer look. The Os itself is also much easier to use.

Someone beat me to it and they did a good job so just read this post but ignore the info on partition magic because you don't really need to Dual Boot.

http://www.aspireoneuser.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=38&t=9194

Also once installed you may need to install 2 of the correct drivers from here:
http://www.croftophile.fr/pilote/atheros_v7.6.1.194.exe
ftp://ftp.work.acer-euro.com/netbook/aspire_one_150/driver/CardRdr_Jmicron_v.1.00.16.01.zip

after that everything should be fine.
btw i really recommend you upgrade its definitely worth it.
