Camcorders

I would like to buy a camcorder with a budget of around £200. I have never owned a camcorder so what features should I be looking for? I'm I right in thinking that I should get a SD or HDD one for convenience?

It will mainly be used for family filming but I am also going to be using footage for editing in After Effects. Anything will be better video quality than my digital cameras integrated video!

Any help or recommendations much appreciated

sd or hdd is easier for transfering and stuff you're right. I'm no expert on camcorders but i've owned a few. Just check on the quality of the lens and I think you want 3 ccd's for the best quality.
