I'm planning on treating myself to a new camera for Christmas, but I don't know a great deal about them!
I want something a bit 'chunkier' than the usual 'pocket' ones, a friend has the fuji finepix s1500 and takes some good photos on it, but I don't know what all the extra bits do! (embarrassed!) however I have said I might do a camera course in the New Year, so it would be used for that also. Until then, it'll be taking photos of the kids opening their pressies!
Any help and advice appreciated!

Also forgot to say, it can't have a long delay on it. My son is disabled and its near on impossible to get a photo of him looking directly at the camera and smiling, as he is constantly moving his head and doesn't understand staying still!

I have just started a digital photography course, and wish I had waited until the course started before buying my camera, as there is plenty advice there as to which camera is best for what you want to take. I would advise holding off until you start your course if you can.
PS...the course is great...
