Tape them down with duct tape. Also use rope and gags and tie a mattress around them.

They are safe and your sanity will remain intact. :giggle:

Years ago I remember sitting on the back seat in a camper van. My uncle had to pull up quickly because of sheep in the road. I slid off the back seat and landed on the dog. :giggle:

As far as i'm aware, nobody is allowed into the back of the campervan/caravan when its moving unless it has proper seats with seat belts.

Unless this is of course a vintage caravan without any existing seatbelts......

Q: What are the laws on carrying children in a camper van?

A: The law requires children under 3 years to travel in a baby seat or child seat, and children over 3 should be in child seat, if seat belts are fitted.

You must make sure that every child under 3 is in the correct child seat; otherwise you cannot legally carry the child in the camper van. Make sure that the child seat fits safely and securely, especially if you are using a child seat which you generally use in another vehicle - the design of the seats may be different and it may not fit as safely. You should also ensure that children who are aged between 3 and 12 are using a correct child restraint if seat belts are fitted

If the camper van has a mixture of forward and sideways facing seats, then only use forward facing ones with seat belts.

Follow the manufacturer's advice about which seats to use.

You can find information about Fitting Child Seats on this website, which may also help.

A lot of caravans/campervans have rear seats that swivel round, they also have seat belts.....

cant you make your own seatbelts, tie them in a big bow at the back.. it'd look real pretty

well what i did when i owned a 1972 vw camper without rear seatbelts was be a proper parent and have some control over the kids and tell them they had to sit down and be good , as for the lack of seatbelt then i simply didnt follow the conformity that children explode if they dont wear seatbelt , its of course serious child abuse up there with kiddie fiddlers not to have 10 foot of straping around them when travelling in a car ,,,,,,,,,,,,

a little story , when i was a kid the old man managed to get 12 kids into the back of a mark 1 cortina , there were at least 3 kids across the parcel shelf , this ritual occured week in and week out without concern and the parents didnt mind in the slightest , this was before the clunk click bull that was pumped out , not a slight hint of an issue ocured , no-one died , nothing happened appart from his car got more and more covered in mud , in other words dont worry , if its not got seatbelts you dont have to wear them , thats the law , enjoy a tiny bit of freedom for once in this restrictive world

hellfords used to do a retro lapbelt kit for approx 100 quid if you really must
