we are going camping in a few weeks, we put the tent up today and left it up outside. However, when we went back it was full of flies, bugs and other things. Anyway, I HATE bugs and I am wondering whats the best way not to get any bugs or anything! Thanks!

LOL. I wish I said that.:)

I'm sure your local camping shop will have the solution to the bug problem.

candles.... lol,

Don't they attract moths :) Anyway, he might not have a tent very long if he uses them.

smoke will do it, but I will leave it up to you how to get smoke into a tent.

Certain scented candles, but flames in a tent is just asking for trouble.

I think we use vanilla out the back but once the barbeque gets going they are off.

All this info is for Flying Bugs, If you have creepy crawlies getting in then I dont know what to do aside from keeping it closed everytime you leave.

A doctor told me recently that if you want real protection from mozzies, etc any product you buy must contain at least 30% DEET. I had no idea what that was but found some anti mozzy wipes in poundlan which had 30% DEET. We used them in Egypt and whilst everyone else seemed to have legs covered in bites we were completely clear... so speak as you find and Poundland came up trumps... I can recommend them. If no poundland nearby just check the products contain the DEET as specified.

we have preparations in florida that are up to 100% deet. Hubby wont let me put on the kids as its not healthy but I cover my legs in it.. better that than the ammonia spray after they've bitten! hate mozzies lol

Keep the tent door shut
#16
citrus smalls deter some bugs and taking garlic tablets will stop you getting bitten by mossies

Drink lots of alcohol before bed. Wont necessarily stop the bugs, but may stop you caring so much.
