You need to get some editing software. Adobe photoshop elemants is the best for non-professionals

photoshop willb e best but you can change simple things on www.picnik.com but depends what you want to do with the background really

PS - i'd recommend Photoshop if you are planning on enlarging.

Photoshop is probably one of the best for advanced stuff, i've heard Gimp is ok for basics too.

i would like for the background to be plain or would it look silly,i know nothing about things like this and what can be done but i would prefer it if u coulnt see my partnerts top in the background

That shouldn't be too hard I'd imagine it would be a simple cut around and then paste onto a new layer which would be the white background and maybe a little touch up with the healing tool.

Other thing you can do is get someone to lightly blur the background which will then make the picture of your baby more focused

bit annoyed really as i have cut the top of his head of do u think it would look silly because of that?

Depends on what sort of background your after I always have a problem with hair, as you can see

Max - I think that's about as good as you can get the hair. I've just been having a go - you chose a much better background colour than I did. I think, if you don't mind me saying so, that it would be better if the bottom section was removed - cropped to where the little one is being held, so that the background colour triangle goes.

I did try that but it seemed to end up a bit like a passport photo & i think he's a bit young to go traveling  , here's my last effort

That's super. Solved the 'triangle problem' by putting in mummy and daddy bear.

The first pic has the top of the head edited in and a different background

Picture 2 & 3 just show different ways of taking the emphasis off the top of the head

Fourth, just a different background

These are only quickly pictures, if you like any of them let me know and I'll spend the time making sure it's perfect for you
