I used to use one of these years ago, but can't for the life of me remember what they're called.

It's the same as the adaptor in this pic, but with 2 female usb ports on the end instead of the ethernet socket.

usb gender bender?

lol but it wouldnt actually change the gender, just double it!
#11
Do you just need a USB hub or splitter? Or does it have to be that specific type of adapter?
#12
@ FreeDUMB: Just an adaptor that splits one usb port into two, it doesn't have to be a specific make, but I would like the form factor from the picture I posted earlier.

dcx_badass
No, the op is just illiterate.

Care to enlighten me?

like FreeDUMB said it is a 2 port usb hub you can get a four port one here or just buy a normal usb hubfor a couple of pounds, as only the ports used will use power

Cheers, i know exactly what a usb hub is, I have one right in front of me, I specifically wanted to know what the form factor I posted was called, and where to get them from. I can remember buying some from a 'pound shop' a few years ago, and they used to be all over ebay, but not anymore.

Yeah I know what you want and there is one with a similar form factor from deal extreme in the first link but with 4 ports.

Sorry forgot to mention I've changed the link to the deal extreme one. :D

If you knew so much then why didn't you describe it properly in your opening post instead of being so vague?

The style you are after is often reffered to as "pen" style. Same with pen drives.

Or thumb hub.

Thanks Hissy Miss for coming to my defence there. I wasn't sure if it was me being patronising or the dandy p being a bit short with the information

Vague??? In what way have I been vague, I posted a picture of it and described it as being the same form factor but with '2 female usb ports on the end instead of the ethernet socket'.
How else could I have described it???

If you don't fancy reading the posts I make then fair enough, but if that's the case then why bother to be condescending and post in this thread at all?

@trog0 thanks for the effort, the first link on dealextreme looks good (although significantly larger than i would like), although the delivery time on there always puts me off.
I don't know what you mean by 'Thanks Miss for comming to my defence there'...did I attack you or something?

Ever heard the expression to call a spade a spade? That's cos it sounds better than that flat thing with a handle on the end that looks a bit like a shovel but it's not.

Probably way over your head and don't worry, I certainly wont offer you any help in future.

For anyone interested I did actually manage to find a picture of the item.
My apologies to the first few commenters, it was a 4 port device, not 2 port as I stated.

Picture of it here:
http://www.alibaba.com/product-free/104694874/4_PORT_USB_MULTI_HUB_EXPANSION/showimage.html?newId=104739950&pn=2&pt=10&t=3&cids=100415368,

I guess it's not quite as sleek as I remember, but thanks to all who *actually* tried to help!
