Hi son going to watch Gorillaz at 02 Sunday. The site says food and drink cannot be taken in although food stalls inside. Is there anybody on here who has been. Could he take a couple of bottles of water in a small back pack. I have done this at Wembley before and just taken top off (presumably so it couldn't be thrown). Also presume some sweets etc in pockets would be ok. Thanks in advance.

he will need to take the top off but water is ok as long as he does this

I would hope he was more bothered about watching and listening to the artist than a few sweets in his pocket and a bottle of water! Give him some money for beer while in there! lol :p

Thanks he will take a couple and hope taking lids off is ok. It wouldn't be the end of the world if they make him bin them.

My DD went to the 02 arena with school for free! It said on the letter cans and bottles weren't allowed, only cartons. Yet she didn't listen :p, and she says only the people with bulging pockets were stopped and searched, her stuff went unnoticed X)

stick them in an inside pocket and take a couple of extra lids or take a couple of capri suns as they break no rules

When I went for New Years Eve last year we had our water taken off us. However it was a dance music event and that being case a lot of the punters were taking some kind of drugs so I imagine they made a lot of money from water sales that night.

I'm sure they have to provide water free legally.

That made me laugh he's only 11 but loves them and can tell you everything about them. I made his dad take him me and older brother are staying at home. Told his dad he has to say they are brill at the end of the night even though I think he will hate it. Dad may have a beer just to get through it.

Then make sure his dad has enough beer money to get him through the night!
I expected him to be a young'un hence my unhelpful beer comment! lol
Although i think he should be allowed if he takes the tops off the bottles i find that rule really stupid because if i was planning on throwing something the bottle would be my first thought not the lid! (note i do not condone your 11 year old son throwing bottles at the band!)
