Ive been looking into getting my hubby a HD player for christmas and in my catalogue it has the

Toshiba HD E1
HD-DVD player with Dolby Digital Plus.
Disc playback: HD-DVD/DVD/DVD-R. HD content output via HDMI. Video up-conversion for SD DVD (720p/1080i). Built-in Dolby digital, Dolby digital plus, DTS and DTS-HD decoders. Backward compatible with your standard DVDs. SCART sockets. H 2.6, w 16.9, d 13.6in.

and now has the
Toshiba HD EP30
Output: 1080p, 1080i, 720p. DVD Upscaling. Playback format: HD DVD, DVD Video, CD-RW/R, DVDR/RW. 2-channel Analogue Output. 1x Extension Terminal. 1x Optical Output. 1x Component. 1x S Video. 1x Composite. HDMI Cable.

If you do a search in the main Deals forum, there is a deal for this posted, with a lot of discussion with regards to the Tech spec, and the soon to be released replacements!

I had a look and by the looks of it the EP30 is better? but the other one is £120 more expensive than the EP30 which made me think it might have been better.

would have asked hubby but then kinda gives the game away hehe
