Can anyone help shed some light on why uTorrent is reporting that my Port is blocked?

It had been working fine until recently - I can't think that I have changed anything dramatically since.....but you never know......

I have set the port in uTorrent, am allowing it through my router, have added uTorrent as an allow in PG2, added the port as an exception in Windows Firewall............... I really don't know what else to do, or what, if anything, I have done incorrectly...........?

The Network indicator on uTorrent is running on Amber, occassionally turning green for a while, but when I check the port through there, it is saying blocked (even when the indicator is green)

My DL speed is not terrible (running @ between 17 and 60 kB/s atm) but has been a lot faster in the past (up to 200 kB/s) for similar sized/seeded torrents......

Thanks in advance for any help that might be forthcoming

If your ports have been forwarded to your router http://portforward.com/routers.htm

and you are still getting slow speed it could be your ISP haved capped your speed, like mine has :-(

It could be - I am with Tiscali :x at the moment - thankfully my 12 month contract is up next week :w00t: and I am going to switch to TitanADSL (supposed to be very good) - so maybe things might resolve themselves then?

Can the port actually be blocked externally (by my ISP)?

You are a star! Thank you - I had this set as static before, but for some reason it was being set automatically - updated and all working properly again!

You rock Chipsticks!

Repped everyone for their help.............

..........saying that, my DL speed has now dropped to practically zero, even though I have a nice green tick, and an open port :? Any ideas?

EDIT: Seems to be coming back up now - might get to watch Lost tonight after all

lol, glad I could help... had issues with port forwarding for the longest time, till I set a static ip address, then it worked like a charm.
