Im having a complete mare here. I ordered a 60GB PS3 off Studio (as they were the only place I could find them in stock at the time, even though they're over priced) on 27th Dec. This was done by talking to a person rather than using online ordering. At the same time, I also gave my ex-partners card details (Solo card) as he owed me the money that was paying for it, and told them to take the full £449.99
3 days later, the money still hadn't come out of his bank so I called them to see what was happening and they had no record of my order and no record of anyone taking his card details. They said there was no pending order and nothing due to be taken off any card. Had a bit of a rant at them, ordered the PS3 again and said I would call back in a couple of days to give a bit longer for anything else to come off his card and to see if the PS3 actually got ordered this time.
As at 4th Jan, still nothing had come out of his bank, so he paid the money into my account and I called up, they re-confirmed they had no other pending payments due to go through and any payments they take would be taken out of the bank within a day. So, as they confirmed the PS3 had been ordered but there was no payment, I gave them my card details (Visa debit). checked my account and the money was taken by the next day. Ex partner went to withdraw money today and his card was refused. Just looked at my Studio account online and it's £900 in credit, so they've taken the money from his bank after all, 9 days after taking the details and after 4 different people confirmed to me they had no record and assured me nothing was going through.
Spoke to their supervisor, as they refused to put me through to a manager as it's 48hrs for a call back, but they didn't seem that bothered that they've taken my ex-partner over his overdraft limit and left him unable to fill the car up tomorrow to get to work and all he said they could do was put in a request for a refund, which could take up to 48hrs to be actioned and the actual refund itself could be anything up to 14 days !!! I've already told them that I'm going to be after some heafty compensation fon his behalf for the complete mess this has been but I'm not in a position to lend him £450 if this does take 2 weeks, so I was wondering whether you can do the equivalent of a chargeback from a Solo card, if he tells his bank that the money was taken without authorisation and if it's any quicker than waiting for a refund, if they manage to get that right.
I wouldn't touch Studio with a barge pole now. Completely useless staff and company, in my opinion of course !
