I have Nero installed and been using for a month or so with no poblem for music and DVD but or some reason it won't let me do DVD's any more, anyone know why that could be?
Did wonder if a free trial has run out but surely I wouldn't be able to use any of it.
Any help appreciated x

Apologies if this is too simple, but .... the version I'm using has tabs labelled CD and DVD and you have to click on the appropriate one. Just a thought.
#7
Sorry, I get to the bit where I have to add video files from my downloads and a message comes up saying 'The file C', bla bla bla, 'does not contain any video information'. Then another box that says 'unable to insert C' bla bla. Then another 'NOT ALL FILES COULD BE ADDED BECAUSE NOT ALL THE NECESSARY LICENSES HAVE BEEN ACTIVATED.' Bla bla
Does this mean anything to anyone?

What you describe here is not copying a protected dvd. You are pretty unclear.

Anyway, the messages you are getting is because the trial period has finished. the key you input was fake.

you need to get any dvd or dvd fab etc these will remove any copy protection and region codes

So have you downloaded a 4.3GB dvd image file (folder called VIDEO_TS) or an ISO image or even a Nero image (NRG suffix) or just a plain old AVI file?

If its an AVI file then you need to burn as a DATA DVD or even DATA CD if under 700mb (i'm assuming your DVD player handles DIVX).

have you even tried to play the AVI file on your PC? It may be corrupt.

you can dl nero 7 ultra and use the serial key 1C82-0000-19E5-MAAX-4000-9835-4910 dont let it check for updates it should be ok to use i have been using nero vision to do mine it will convert avi to dvd in about 1 hour or so and save it to your hdd or burn to a disk

check out convertxtodvd for avi to dd conversion. its at least twice as quick as nerovision 4

most dvd films to dl are in avi format this is a compressed file to make the size smaller, if you have a dvd player that plays divx you will not need to convert it will play avi files the same as a pc would

Your best bet in the long run to stop all the hassle of validation of pirate nero software is to bite the bullet and buy a legitimate version.

You only need the nero 7 essentials suite for what you are doing.

£3 delivered on ebay! see 110255925862

thanks it was there but i think a mod has removed it :x

note for the mods
can you let people know if you change things thanks its only manners! oops did i say mods i meant gestapo:whistling:

Free versions of Nero usually come with a 30 day trial of Recode which is the software you have probably been using to do your dvd's. Without purchasing a license there is no way of using Nero as your copying software for encrypted dvd's.

As suggested above there are free alternatives, of which Fab is probably the best as it includes a built in decrypter.

but that isnt your problem. You are just trying to burn a data dvd but nero is out of licence.

get the ebay one for £3 and install dvdshrink for copying protected DVDs.

google is your friend for dvdshrink.
