We have cordless in the rest of the house, and I'm sick of hearing it ringing and not being able to find it. Kids wander off with them, no one ever puts them back on their bases. Just for the kitchen (MY room!) I want one that stays where it is meant to be!!!

The curly bit? You can do that? YAY!!

You could use one of those self winding ski pass cords - the ones that you clip to your belt, and that pull the cord back in.

The BT Duet 60 is the only thing I can find that has the caller display and is wall mountable and NOT massive - but the reviews are pants, and frankly it's a bit 'cheap' looking. There must be something a bit nicer to look at but still enables me to avoid answering calls from the m-i-l.

For example, you can buy a 6.4m cable for about £4.50 delivered here

EDIT: The same cable is available for £4 delivered from their ebay outlet: 200553785416

That's fab - I'll deffo get the cable, but still can't find a half decent wall mountable phone that doesn't look like a desk phone stuck to the wall.

The kind of phone you're looking for is called a gondola phone. I bought a white one from Tesco a couple of years ago for £2. Dixon's are selling a black one for £3.91 delivered, but there might be better prices out there.

EDIT: Or a bit more hi-tech?

Caller display is a MUST - otherwise I'd be having this:
