Can anyone recommend some cat food for fussy cats?

sickly sweetsickly sweet

My cat is being really fussy with the wet cat food at the moment.
She won't touch the felix, whiskers, gourmet (the ones with chunks, though she might nibble the fishy pate ones) and other supermarket ones. Up until a few months ago she loved them, so long as we rotated brands every few weeks, but now she sniffs it and looks at me like I've given her a pile of poo to eat.
She will happily eat freshly cooked chicken, pheasant, meaty leftovers etc. and is eating the dry food so it's not that she's off her food, just she's being fussy and stubborn. She's old so I'm happy to give in to her, so if you have any any recommendations on wet food for fussy cats it would be appreciated.
She loves the applaws food but at 90p a sachet and 4 - 5 sachets a day it'd be cheaper to cook fresh food for her.

OK, I'll tell her not to go on a dirty weekend to Blackpool so she can sh*t in your garden.

Tried the whiskers oh so fishy and the felix as good as it looks and no joy, just boxes piling up of food she won't eat soon to be donated to the cat's protection. I think we spoilt her with some applaws food when it was on offer and she realised what she could be having X) She's just not having any of the cheaper foods now and we don't have a Sainsburys near otherwise I'd buy some single sachets and see if it'd tempt her.

Thanks chuckiedoll for the encore tip, it looks like the applaws but a bit cheaper (I know, it's not all about price but I'd rather not be spending near £5 a day on food for the cat).

Fussy cat = cat that has been spoiled by owner.

Starve cat for a few days. Result = non fussy cat that will be glad to eat anything.

    Problem solved... end of thread

Very different to normal cat food

or just tinned tuna rinsed in tap water

We only have a Tesco near us (or Waitrose) :(
Oooh, maybe M&S do one, might be worth a look.

We tried her with the tinned tuna but she gets bored quickly. Seriously, it's like having a fussy child in the house :3

My cat doesn't like the expensive catfood out there, he just seems addicted to tinned whiskas , especially supermeat, when I open up a tin of that stuff he goes mental ! Cats do seem to go round and round with their tastes so you should keep the food for a few months

I would normally agree but we've had a meeting of stubbornness and she's refused to eat wet food for 4 days (I've put it out fresh for her 3x a day since Friday), she won't even look at it and I'm fed up of her yowling. Plus she's old and I feel mean and the poor birds are suffering as she just goes on a rampage killing spree - there was even a baby rabbit on the doorstep this morning which the dog promptly swallowed and puked up on the carpet so, well, it's time to give in!

My cat eats anything. No food is safe from her tasting and usually eating. She once ate two chocolate croissants that my daughter accidently left out in a plastic bag.

My cat was forced to live outside by her previous owners which is why I think she is so greedy now.

I would persevere with a cat food you are happy with unless your cat has an underlying medical problem which affects her taste and/or smell.

Awww, mine was a rescue cat and she's always been happy with whatever food we give her so long as it's rotated every few weeks.
She's been off the felix/whiskars stuff for over a month so it's not a whim and she's sticking to it so it's time to give in to her but finding a food she likes is proving damned hard. I think she'd like to be fed on fresh chicken and meats with rice - she loves rice - forever but there's enough people and meals to cook anyway and it seems a bit too precious to cook something especially for her.

Yep, it's just plain nasty when someone hasn't put the lid on the butter dish and you can see she's had a go at it.
It's a battle between the dog and the cat as to who gets which meaty leftovers, the girls in the house give them to the cat and the boys in the house give them to the dog. You've got to be stealth-like to get in there first and try and hide it 'no, there wasn't any skin left from the chicken' 'oh, we must have finished it last night'. Sadly the cat doesn't understand the need for speed like the dog does so us girlies have been busted a few times.

I had the same problem, but now feed my cat with go cat dry food.she love's it
    CrazyHorses
If she is old then I would cook a large amount of rice and chicken etc in one go then freeze portions. She will be happy and it will be more cost effective for you.

It could be that her taste buds and smell are not the same anymore so she is not being fussy for the sake of it.
