the weird and wonderful world of ebay! i guess some people just get caught up in a bidding war and end up spending more than necessary....

it isnt just about the cheapest, its about many things, sellers rep, goods already sold, checking folks out, some people prefer to but off certain members that fit different criterias, also some people bid on things and get carried away, etc, etc

......and bear in mind some "sales" on Ebay never take place at all!!!

Because there are some right idiots about. Why pay £270 + £25 P&P on ebay when the exact same console is available for £189.50 + £19.50 P&P (BIN) on ebay.....................

Maybe people need telling what the SEARCH function is for on ebay ;)

or maybe its that the Wii in question has more to offer.... maybe its a chipped Wii?... they are not allowed to advertise that they are chipped but if you read between the lines and email the seller you can easily find out.
there are lots of sellers selling chipped Wii's with about 30 games included for about £100 more than the normal retail price but the auction does not on the face of it appear any different from a normal Wii. If you are looking for a chipped Wii though, they can easily be found if you know how to read the description. That is why those ones sell for a lot more money and sell quickly on buy it nows.
Not everything is what it seems.
YOU may think its a numpty paying over the odds, the "numpty" wonders why the heck anyone pays retail and then £30 a game and end up paying £800 for the same thing. Who is the numpty?

In this instance - YOU ARE!

I was comparing like for like (both were brand new unmodded UK pal systems). One went in standard auction for £270 and £25 P&P when clearly a buy it now auction is still there for £189.50 and £19.50 P&P.

That was my point :-D

Not sure where you dream up that £800 figure. I just buy games when they are at bargain prices and put them on ebay when bored with them and still end up in profit, thus bringing down the price of my initial wii/ps3 purchases :)
