Whilst at it then, can i ask, that they also respect speed limits, esp when it's lowered due to men/women working in the road? Just cos the cameras are 2km apart doesn't mean, slow down for camera, speed up to next, slow down and so on.....

PS. fog lights are for when it's foggy. They don't look good, they're not big or clever. If a light is below the level of a car's bumper, it is generally regarded as a fog light, so please, turn them off :)
#6
Yep, this does my head in too, the number of times I've seen people having to slam on their brakes because they couldn't see the lights of the car in front is frightening....

Thats why they mostly install them new average speed ones on motorways, which lets face are going to become more common on every major road in the next 10 years. Sit back and let the revenue pay for the cameras.

I saw this happen today as well,do people think they are invincible:?

Sorry, my angst was more parochial.
Sick of being overtaken in the roadworks near me by HGV and other clowns.
At the mo we have some temp speed cameras and a 50mph restriction, alas, seems only where the cameras are :-(
#11
If the rain is really heavy I've noticed that some cars seem to disappear completely in the rain/surface spray, mostly metalic silver cars! An even better reason to get the lights on!!

What about all the chumps who sit in the middle lane even when they are not overtaking!! This really does my nut as this is a good reason why people get held up since they are reducing the motorway by a lane effectively.
#12
Oh yeah, good "angst at driving" thread, good work op :)

PMSL, yeah, cos women have to drive slower, otherwise, when they hit a bump, they smudge their make up or poke the eyelash brush in their eye right?

Quick question, why do people moan about fog lights being on?? Surely it draws more attention to a cars presence (best desciption i could think of).

I had mine on whilst on motorway once and a police car in front put a message up on the scrolling led displays they have telling me to turn them off. I mean seriously do they cause that much of an issue??

Rear ones dazzle due to their height but I can't see a problem with front mounted driving lights.
#24
I always find that whilst it does increase your visibility it can also cause excessive glare for the driver in front of you. This doesn't help at all as you can imagine. Same in some ways (not all) as driving with full beam on in the right conditions. Imaging how much glare that creates?
Lol, did you turn them off and have you kept them off since :)?

Yes they can as they are quite bright as they are used for fog and not for usual driving

Also can people please get into the correct lane when using a roundabout, and not cut me up!!!!
even if its to cut out 2 or 3 cars of traffic, or your thats thick you dont know which one your sposed to use, the amount of times people have nearly hit me with my baby girl in the car is just plain crazy

Ok I will give you that but do you not think it is better to try than not at all?

I drive 30,000 + miles per year and most days I see driving that shocks me but you are spot on with roundabouts and the confusion they cause to some people

You can try, i'm keeping this bumped for you ;-)

I actually think it's more dangerous to drive in good weather as people become 'braver' and drive like divs.

last time we drove from dartford to great yarmoth (i think) on the motorway( i think lol) cant remember, but it was 2 lanes and i was in the outside lane over taking 3 slow lorrys. A guy in a flash car was right up my butt, flashing his lights i mean where the hell did he want me to go it was 2 lanes, he was even trying to get round me either side and i was doing the speed limit, bring on the average speed detector cameras might stop mugs like that

I tend to now keep them off yeah

I know they are brighter but as they are a such a low level IMO they don't cause a nuisance, I've never had an issue with someone elses fog lights dazzling me. Each to their own though (not meant to sound cocky) :-D

I hear ya there, is it too difficult to navigate a roundabout in the correct lane? The amount of times i've nearly been hit whilst on my bike!!!

were they driving in the middle lane with no lights on - GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
#38
Sorry I will try to be a better driver in future. But anyway I always drive in the fast lane so if you don't like it you can overtake me in the slow lane. And my foglights are actually driving lights and look pretty cool, People with lesser spec models don't have the option and I am a bit of a showoff...

And as for these chaps on motorcycles that try to cut through the middle, I just move over forcing them to brake:thumbsup:
