A couple of weeks ago i bought my son a fisher price musical zoo from argos, and paid £29.99, however ive just looked on their website now and it is £19.99, but they do not have any in stock near me, so would it be possible to take the one i have back to argos and buy it again at the lower price??? Thanks!

I guess it will go back in the system.

I don't think that they would refund and then let you buy it straight back.

i see what you are asking...cheeky...but risky... :-D
#3
yeah it sholdnt be a problem, as long as it is within 28 days and in new condition etc

What to do is get someone to watch the website as you return it, then reserve it as it goes back in their system (5 mins i'm guessing?) reserve it, and text you the reservation number.. then off you go to the quickpay till :whistling:

Providing it falls within their money back guarantee period and that you have the receipt showing that you paid £29.99 for it.

If you dont have the receipt then all they will offer you is the current sale price.

dont thay have a 16 day back money guarentee? if it's within what ever time frame they specify and still in it's packaging then i don't see why not.

That isn't the issue here, have you read the OP?

Just read this, you might find its not that straight forward :

"Have you ever wondered what happens to returned items because customers change their mind? Due to UK law Argos are not allowed to sell these items in their stores again. So a site was set up, where anyone can bid on clearance stock and get great deals "

Thats quite simply not true, if an item is returned in a saleable condition it will be sold by that same argos store, thats what we used to do when i was a youngster and worked there..

Plus Pc World and its ilk sell customer returns all the time and DSG is a huge brand group

I was only posting what I had read. What I would suggest is to have a word with them at Argos, they are only human afterall, it doesnt seem fair that the cost has now been reduced and there may be something they can do about it if you explain it to them.
#14
If I was guessing it wouldn't get put back into the system till later so the chances of you getting the same one back would be very slim IMO.
#15
It will either go in, in the first 5 mins, or at the close of business when the store stock update is done.. either way its possible to get it back (like the endless reservation trick) but its not certain
#16
Yes return it & just buy it again at the lower price  you wont be the only one & this wont be the only item ..
#17
Get a mate to follow you in, as you return it, get your mate to pipe up, undercover obviously

'oooo just what i needed, can I have it?'
#18
Yeah but they don't want the same expensive one back they want the reduced one.

it blinkin well is the issue......stop being a keyboard warrier

Yes you can. I did it today with the LEGO Coastguard Platform i bought yesterday. Took it back and got a refund at yesterdays price of £32.99 and then said........actually i'll buy it again.........and got it at todays price of £21.99 :-D

You chose to buy the item at the original price and you secured the product. Those who were lucky enough to get the same product at the reduced price got a deal bit risked not getting hold of the product. I doubt that they will allow you to return it and them give you a tenner back.

When someone says Argos are allowed to sell item again, surely these are the ones that are sealed and unopened. It has to be illegal from a sale of goods point of view yeah ? If that is not the case and Argos can re sell a returned item that is being sold as NEW , AFAIK Argos are not a 2nd hand shop and only sell new items unless otherwise specified as clearance or are they ?
