Didn't work 4 me, lady said even of I did have the recipt, beacuse i cut the seal no chance

they won't take it back without a receipt or a bank statement with the exact amount of the item you bought. so they told me the other day anyway!

and then they probs won't take it back unless its faulty

I think to stand a chance, you'd need receipt. I tried to exchange a cd few months ago cos I got wrong one, and cos I didn't have receipt they wouldn't look at it. Doesn't cost anything to enquire at Asdas though.

Have you broken the seal on the item? They won't if you have unless it is faulty, in which case you are unlikely to get a refund because you have no receipt. They may give you a credit note but whats to say that you got the game from them in the first place? I'd ring their customer services beforehand and get the name of the person you speak to if they tell you that you will get a refund or credit note instore.

Thanks everyone, might give them a ring - bit shy though, that's why I asked here first

If its the one you won on here - probably not

Noooooooo, I got Fifa 10 from the comp - OH opened it straightaway, he was happy cos I definitely wouldn't have bought it! :giggle:

It was Super Mario Bros and I haven't opened it

ASDA are c**p at taking things back. We spent about £20 on a toaster that stopped working after 2 months. We had the receipt but they wanted the box as well. Who keeps all their boxes etc? We did not want to exchange for the same because it stopped working so soon after purchase. After about an hour we were given a credit note.

Really surprised to hear that.

I took one of their own brand DVD players (think I paid £16 for it) after 9 months, with no remote, and they gave me another one.

I didn't have the receipt, box, remote or anything else. But, because they were the only ones that sold it, they swapped it for a working one

That's the kind of experience I have had with them previously, I have taken clothes back with no receipt but the clothes are obviously from there, whereas a game can be from anywhere

i work on the customer service desk at asda and stores do differ but the general rule is you do need your reciept doesnt matter if seal has broken as long as it not damaged in anyway if you have a reciept and it is within 28 daqys of buying it then no problem but without your reciept its unlikely not even a credit note because we cant prove it was purchased from our store also depending on the store it doesnt matter how much you argue for example in my store we get the last say so even if a manager come down they cant change it as it is a store policy hope this helps

having said that if know exactly what date you bought it what else you bought in same transaction and how much it cost they may be able to track it this would have to be done at the store you purchased it from, it is easier if you paid by card in which case take the card with you as they can trace it through your card details and in some cases if you paid cash providing you have exact date and rough time,
