Can I take a 360 hd dvd drive out of casing and put it in PC

Just as I dropped mine and thought the casing is intact and undamaged the lid popped off the casing so I saw inside it and its a regular drive.

Im thinking of just putting the drive in my PC and buying another for my 360.

Saves me connecting it VIA usb every time I want to use it.

But what connections does it have if anyone knows.

Yes. I think so.

You need to buy a special adapter.

It is just a laptop hdd with a sata connection. Although unlike the PS3 it uses proprietry formating so you can't just buy a bigger one anywhere - you have to use MS over-priced ones.

I'm guessing the error was that you're talking about Hard Drives, the poster was talking about the HD DVD Player Drive.

It sounds like you were talking about a Hard Drive.. we're talking about disk drives?

They are all 'disk' drives... (hard disk, HD-DV disk)

ahh - HD DVD drive. My error. I misread it as HDD drive. doh!

In that case it is a standard USB hookup and get new drivers.
