Can i unlock it (3.00 FW)?

If i do, will it naff up the baseband whatever people are talking about?

As I will be going back to my 02 sim.

If so, what program?

so the answer is actually no.

If I unlock it, I would have to rely on pwnage tool (or similar apps in future if pwnage group ended) to update my phone...

Can no longer just update via apple and jailbreak..

Yes you will most likely cause problems for the phone.

Bit annoying if you want to run all the unsupported apps or use an authorised sim card, but hey, rough with the smooth..

not quite getting my point, I know it is possible to unlock my phone, (not the issue), the issue is if this is done, you have to rely on pwnage tool(s) in the future to update..

the porter
ultrasnow on cydia will unlock your phone

does this have any detremental effect like pwnage tool?

if you want to keep the unlock yes but its just as easy really also geohot has come back to the fold now so expect new stuff soon

in my case the unlock would only be temporary, my main sim is and will always be an 02 one..

so....??

You can just connect to apple & take the standard update when you want it, trouble is it will lose all you added by other means. You can then jailbrake again on latest firmware (when avaialble)

There are apps to backup the other stuff etc.

No way after having jailbroken my phone I could go back to having it standard

I plan to always jailbreak, couldnt do without it..

just dont want to restrict the phones future by unlocking it with a method that could do that.. is ultrasnow ok to use then?

reading how pwnage tool does it freaks me out tbh
