Thanks but I would have to buy it to try it :?

I have never heard of a device not accepting a Micro SD card in an adaptor.

Why do't you just try it? A micro SD card is more expensive, so I don't see why you want to use one instead of an SD card.

Perhaps she already has a spare one of these, and not a standard SD card :?

You'd put off buying a camera because of a £5 memory card?
I took the statement underneath as saying she hasn't got one.

Confused? Yes.

Not confused. OP would have to buy the camera to try the memory card.

And why buy another memory card if you've got a perfectly good one lying around doing nothing

I put a 'wanted' thread in the FS/FT section for an SD card and someone has offered me a micro SD instead, that's why I want to know :)

I meant that i'm confused, not you.

Get an SD card, they're cheaper.
Don't know why you'd get a 2nd hand one after she purchased a brand new camera though.

As I said, someone on here has offered me a micro SD so wanted to see if it would work.

My SIL is going on holiday, possibly as early as Tuesday so haven't got time to wait for one to be delivered from the internet and cheapest we can find instore is £24,99

That's why I have asked in the FS section on here, so the seller can post it out today

Thanks everyone ! :)

The other card offered is a 4gb - as I said in the thread I would rather buy an 8gb so thats why I asked if it would work

There's little point in having such a big capacity card with a digital camera.
Does she intend to take hundreds upon hundreds of photos before transferring to the PC?

I filled 4 4GBs and a 1 8GB when I was travelling. I had my laptop with me aswell, but I keep my photos on my cards and just buy new ones.

Would it not be cheaping transferring them to cd disc so you've always got a back-up. Thats what I do and just delete them from my memory card regularly.

24GB of photos .........so youve taken around 15-20,000 photos:w00t:

that i find hard to believe and reckon youre just trying to prove a point

There's some videos aswell, I took about 8000-10,000 photos across the two months.

bet youve got some real good photos amongst that lot somewhere if you can find them

ive not taken that many photos in the last 10 years of traveling

Thanks everyone, just got back home cos I was stuck in traffic so doesnt look like I am getting the 8gb micro SD now.

SIL is going travelling for 1 month so obviously doesnt want to risk running out of space on her memory card
