I think it's a harddrive slot but what type of drive (SSD etc)

Guy thanks...I know it's sata maybe should've...actually definitely should've rephrased my question. i know it's sata but what size sata and would a SSD go in here too? Or is there a specific requirement?

do a google hdd connectors search and choose images - comes up with a sata as above

Any 2.5" SATA drive should fit in there (except the latest 1TB drives as they are slightly thicker).

It's a micro SATA connector for 1.8" drives.

Any 2.5" SATA drive should fit in there (except the latest 1TB drives as they are slightly thicker).

1.8" SSD normally command big prices but crucial's 1.8" 64gb C300 is not bad value at all. Remember 7% quidco too.
