i sold a item on here on the 16th oct , 3 weeks later the buyer said they had not recived it , anyway after talking to mods etc , we were advised to leave feedback , i was left a negitive , and i also left a negitive feedback , but the buyer is now sending me threating mesages and has also added a horrible rant about me on there profile description button , surley this cant be allowed as the mod advised that no refund should be given and feedback was the appropriate route to take

any help would be greatly appreciated

thanks xx

contact the mods again if they agree they will remove it and take action

Am very surprised to hear the mod advised you NOT to refund

Re the profile - report it to the mods

I reckon this thread is tit for tat

Why would you leave negative feedback for someone who didn't receive an item YOU sent to THEM? There's more to this than meets the eye

What reason were you given for not having to refund? thats very unusual, i would not ask for a refund before at least 2 weeks had gone past if the item was sent RM, so 3 weeks is not that long to wait.

i am suprised you didnt have to refund and would prob feel the same way as her tbh, although wouldnt add to profile

I buy alot of stuff on here, in a dispute is it normal for the mods to advise not to refund?

yeh quite worrying as thought it would have been course of action? one item i bought feel out of the envelope enroute and the seller fully refunded me.

they advised not to refund as i told the buyer i would send it on the 18th oct 2 days after it was purchased , 3 weeks went buy i recived all positve feedback for the other items i sent on the 18thoct , then i recived a message saying it was not recived , the buyer was very rude to me , the mods advised to leave feedback and not refund as no contact was made for 3 weeks from the buyer , i am now getting messages saying they are going to do eeverthing to get me banned etc which i really dont like , i have done nothing wrong i sent the item and i have good feedback on here i wouldnt risk it :(

a refund was in order in my opinion, 3 weeks is not too long especially as they said they forgot and i never throw away proof of postage until i know it has arrived if i haven't received feedback i send a message to check. even if the mods advise its still your choice not to refund

3 weeks is NOT an unreasonable amount of time to wait for item to arrive IMO the mods were wrong on this one.

A quote from Sigma in your thread OP

mostwanteddirect, did you opt for any form of signed for delivery ? If the item has been lost in the post you should initiate a compensation claim with your postal carrier to claim back cost and the buyer is entitled to a full refund. Any other issues should be addressed in the feedback comments you both leave for the sale.

So you were advised to make a claim via Royal Mail and refund the buyer

i dont think for one second you've done anything deliberately wrong, i think the mods have given you bad advice.

Don't understand why you will not refund, you didn't deliver the item they had paid for. I'd be miffed too!

why did you leave a neg let alone not refund, buyer did nothing wrong until that point and you can reclaim any loss from PO if item was sent correctly

Yep your neg rep left for buyer is shockingly bad!

I have removed the buyers 'profile description'.
Regarding any threatening messages that you have received can you please forward them, including any that you have sent in response.
As Royal Mail cover lost items up to £35 (I think) I guess you have already started a claim with them for the lost item. All you need is the 'proof of postage' slip which I assume as a seasoned seller you will have collected when you posted and the claim form that you can pick up at any Post Office and online.
Send them both off and make your claim so both yourself and the buyer will not be out of pocket.
Regarding negative feedback, that is intended to be used to honestly express how you feel the transaction went.

handbags at dawn methinks-op,you have left feedback for buyer stating they "tried to dupe you out of money"-you got any proof of that? did you send the item recorded delivery and do you know its been signed for? calling someone a thief with ZERO proof is a bit out of order. Equally they shouldnt be threatening you(if thats the case)
[mod]#22
Just refund and then raise a compensation claim. That is then fair for both parties. I fail to see why you left negative feedback.

still doesnt answer the question-did you send it recorded or not? and if you didnt, then how can you prove the buyer is trying to "dupe you"

You shouldnt need a mod to tell you what is the right action to take!!

Give the buyer a refund and then make a claim, also to leave neg is wrong, buyer paid his money and you failed to deliver

Why for the sake of £8 max did you not just refund the buyer? (this would also have saved you the bother of people claiming you didnt use the correct postal service, im not saying you didnt and that you really did throw the proof in the bin but these questions will be asked in cases like this!) Surely refunding would look good on your part instead of whats now happened. As it stands now you have a negative feedback and most likely this thread and the original will count against you in further trades? Was it worth all this hassle for the sake of £8?
Just goes to show that even members with relatively high feedback sometimes make stupid choices!

The fact that everyone has said the same thing and that you've had this thread locked just goes to prove your in the wrong and you know it.

I'm still waiting so I can look into these threatening messages.
Can you forward please so I can look into this serious accusation?
Thanks

Buyer being given a neg is unfair.............it should be removed. They've paid and received nothing. OP says they were told not to refund when in the thread they were told to refund.

Seller should have a trade block put on until this is resolved as per what happens to others.
