It also depends how much you are claiming for. For items posted normal first class post i am pretty sure you will be covered for up to £30.
I have claimed a cuople of times with Royal Mail with varying success.

Your covered to £34 - 100 times value of 1st class stamp. Not sure what current going rate on Halo 3 Limited Edition is? It is sellers responsibility - as you have the contract with royal mail.

Yup, as the others have said, its your responsibility as it was you that hold the contract (ie bought the stamp and hold the insurance)

Probably best to either ring royal mail customer services or go to the post office for a form. (Theres always a form isn't there!!!)

Make sure you claim its full value! (Though this is limited to £34 as someone has said)

DEL BOY tip - tell him to buy the same game from say play.com then he tells them that the one they sent him was the damaged one, Play will then pay postage costs and refund his money.

Sounds like fraud to me!

Why not buy broken stuff on ebay and then buy the real thing and send the broken ones back under guarentee?

its impossible to do for one thing and yes it is fraud and i dont condone it one bit but i thought it was a easy way out for you instead of maybe having to shell out for another replacement for the lad.

Defrauding a company is one thing. Asking your buyer to defraud, is asking for trouble.

Photocopy your claim form and proof etc because it's not unknown for the Royal Mail to 'lose' your claim... speaking from experience.
