I dont no much about computers but my son wants one for his 18th.

E you're after a simple, decent laptop that handles your everyday tasks with ease, look no further than the EI Systems 4135 Refurbished Laptop. This laptop is powered by the Intel® Celeron® Processor 540, and comes pre-loaded with the Genuine Windows Vista® Home Premium operating system from Microsoft. With its 80GB Hard Drive and 1GB of Memory, it's perfect for your daily computing responsibilities.

This refurbished laptop has been professionally checked, tested and repackaged. It comes with a reassuring 12-month warranty and offers fantastic savings over its pristine equivalent.

very poor spex

I no its not great but my son will only use for college and to chat to mates so it sould be fine
this one?

the price is ok, but that would be about it. These E systems are like a PC World own-brand, and from past experience can be pretty shoddy.
If your looking for something around that price range I would consider a netbook. I think Sainsburys are doing one this week. If you want a laptop, I would look at the acer timeline range, these seem to have amazing battery life. Or maybe consider a second-hand laptop from a well-known brand. My dad bought something similar to this

the build quality of the IBM (now lenovo) laptops is pretty good.
Missed it now all gone.
Obviously the timeline would be more, as i said, if you want to stick at that price range go for a netbook.

The 2nd hand ibm thinkpad, is speaking from experience, my dad has had his two years, and has worked great.

Lets not forget that the laptop in the original post is 2nd hand, although it comes with a warranty, that warranty is with PC World - well known for their great customer service.
The original poster asked for opinions on the laptop listed, i gave mine, and i gave some other ideas for them to consider.

Working with, and having purchased laptops a lot, I have enough experience not to touch a PC World own brand laptop with a barge pole. I'm sure others will disagree. That is however my opinion.

To the OP, please buy something (anything) else.
