Hi thanks for the information provided, What method of p&p will you be using?

Also could you post the following thanks

(5) Please Post Images (click for details) including a piece of paper with your user name and date next to the actual items for sale. This helps your sale or trade by showing the condition, establishing validity and also that you have the items in your possession. If you post an eBay image or are unable to post any images, we may pull the listing immediately to request further information.
#4
I've noticed this, it is rather hypocritical to continually post links to the FS FT rules yet he clearly hasn't read them himself;

14) Please ONLY post in a thread if you are interested in engaging in the sale/trade listed. Anything else will be considered thread spoiling and will be deleted.
#5
I like DJ Urban but have noticed he has been in the FS a lot - but also remember the amount of scammers we have been getting on there so its just a member looking out for others I reckon.
#6
I think he is saving the mods a bit of work so leave him to it,

I agree. He isnt technically thread spoiling - he is reminding people of the rules. Why has it bothered u so much OP that u had to start a thread about it - why not send him a pm? I wouldnt be pleased if someone tried to embarras me by starting a thread like you have.

Exactly, and the mods do not mind mild self-moderation, actually they encourage it.

Again agreed, he isnt thread spoiling he is lending a hand, otherwise someone else will just come on asking for photos anyways, at least he is always to the point, polite, and states the rule.

If Dj-urban doesn't write that, then a mod will. So it doesn't matter who writes it.
#10
It isn't a rule anyway to provide pics.

I often put on FS threads if a newbie has listed something, much kinder than seeing their thread locked

Doesn't say MUST post pics, more of a polite request than a rule IMO?

Yes I see what u mean - I have clicked the report button and asked a mod to confirm or not but I would assume reading that you DO need to post a pic. I wouldnt buy something anyway without seeing a picture of the item!

exactly that Carley, however would you buy from a new trader ie under 10 feedback for an item worth more then £25? Fair enough for the more experienced and known members, but still generally I prefer to see and use photos myself to show condition etc.

so why do mods lock threads till people post pics then sometimes?

Its been asked before, its suggested that everyone should attempt to show photos, especially newer members to ensure they have the item, and the condition of that said item.

request further info could mean understanding why a pic wasn't posted.

I've sold stuff without pics, not everything needs them.

I sold an iTunes voucher whilst I was in Australia and it was in England, my mum text me the code and I PMed it no problems, no picture posted then.

Agreed, but you are well known around these parts, whereas new members wont be. I saw more new member stating they would not send first as they could be trusted as they run a charity...how the hell do we know thats true? I could say I was Lord Justice otherwise!

no i wouldn't

same, i wouldnt even bother considering it.

Well yeah it depends on the members, I don't think we should all be forced to.
[admin]#27
We encourage pics to be posted on all threads, failing to add images can encourage members to bump by proxy by repeatedly asking for a picture.
Whilst trades between established members (who may have traded frequently in the past) are normally very quick and might not need pics, trades involving a newer member (either as a buyer, or a seller) may encourage either side to ask for a picture.

It also helps to establish that the item is in the sellers possession.

We welcome members who look after the fs forum / folk, especially whilst ASB is away :)
DJ_Urban is not the only member who actively watches threads and tries to help out new members, there are a lot of you who frequently report strange activity / rule breaches and it helps make our job a lot easier if you can all continue to do that.

As long as the guidelines and rules are followed, There shouldn't be any problems, Yet this cannot be guaranteed all the time.

There has been a few chancer's over the last few days, However those were sorted.

This is a community that we all like to use, Esp keeping fs/ft section a safe area to use by keeping the scammer's away etc

My post's by quoting the rules , linking the guideline's + rule's is a reminder to trade safely And for the newer members to be aware of the rules/guidelines in place.

Also with the rules and guidelines not showing on fo.lk side it doe's help the newer member's also by linking them from hukd and into fo.lk.

definitely not as it is ive stopped selling as much on here due to others stating silly things or trying to reel off rules to me, you think i dont know them with my feedback? :whistling:
Plus the amount of people who constantly PM as well trying to barter, even had one person a while ago barter after the price had been agreed! :w00t:

But as you said a itunes voucher doesnt need a photo, likewise if im selling a brand new sealed blu ray or game, its sealed as new, thus you shouldnt need a photo.

Looks like I'm a little late to the party but personally the thing that offends me is the use of bold type - to a new user who has not grasped who the mods are, it could come across that dj_urban IS a mod. I suppose its the forum equivalent of impersonating a policeman....

Its not impersonating a mod, as if it was then the mods wouldnt allow users to have bold typeface. It is for emphasis, thus why the mods do it.
There are other members that constantly use bold, dj_urban does not, and only uses it where required.

Nothing wrong with bold, it's part of the formating option.

Funny - I have yet to come across any of these users.

The fact still is that dj_urban is not a mod, and therefore should make this clear, whether in individual posts, or even in his profile somewhere. If I were a new user I would assume he is a mod from his behaviour and type - what should happen if dj_urban gives incorrect advice that is blindly followed? Its a dangerous game to get into, particularly if more members start doing it and actually opens the way for scammers.

The OP neds to get over it & just move on. I hate this trend of naming users in thread titles that are basically just a **** fest!

what so your saying every non mod should say so? if he gives incorrect advice (doubtful) then report it, that what we are here for, to self-moderate.

I say well done DJ urban...nice to know there are members out there that care about others not being scammed etc....
If you have nothing to hide then I don't see how it can bother you.
