Has anyone tried bargaining for more calls, texts or data when taking out another 18-24 month contract?

yes ofcourse you can.

Last year, I bargained for half an hour for an awesome sim only upgrade deal.

The next day, I rang up again and said I still wasnt happy and they gave me a free new phone too..... after some persuasion!

Good Luck!

Definitely yes. See what they offer. I always say I can get such and such a deal elsewhere. If they say they can't do it then ask for your PAC code. By the time you get put through to that department they seem to have authority to do the deal when the other person couldn't funnily enough! If you don't ask you don't get.

I didn't think anybody just took what was offered these days? Particularly when upgrading/renewing.

best way i have found is 'threaten' to leave for a new supplier, get through to the cancellations dept and they always offer a much better deal!

Orange said they were "onto" people like me when I last upgrade. My other half was in the background telling me the phone to get. I never keep the phone so i didnt know what was a good one. In the end the bloke got fed up with me i think.

Im due an upgrade soon but will probably go onto sim only i think. Im going to have a good look on the highstreet too as have seen some good deals in various stores.

They can be 'on to you' all they like. Provided you're prepared to back up your threats and go elsewhere, they can like it or lump it.

Wonder where the best deal is to bargain with for a Desire ??

Every time! If your bargaining skills aren't up to much just tell them you're leaving and they'll usually bend over backwards to keep your business...

Don't see why not, a SIM is a SIM

Most just use smart phone as a term for a tarriff with internet.

It's only if it specifially says a phone like iphone or blackberry that it matters.

I have been using my C905 standard tariff in my iPhone for the past year and it has worked ever since
